Only eighteen months ago she decided to enter the music industry with only her journal of lyrics and thoughts and of course her burning ambition. From the very start she refused to have a manager knowing very well that a lot of young woman in this particular industry who think they are being guided are in fact being moulded and manipulated into becoming an act with no individuality or say in their music, style, opinions and direction. Loosing all individuality and say in their artistic creativeness sand in turn becoming just another bland manufactured pop star/group with a team of accountants and business men counting the money in the background. Only recently has she signed up to agent Tony Clayman, as he has continued to let her have complete artistic control in all her work. She did not want to be just another product that came out of a music factory. So with her own money and her own creativity she has written and co-produced her debut album "Guilty Pleasures" Each song reflecting a different emotion, an idea, and a look on life from her perspective. She has made obsessively sure that not one song on Guilty Pleasures was an album filler. Unfortunately in today's age there is a habit for record companies to fill up albums with those dreaded "fillers" just to save time and money. For an artist to allow 8 album fillers in to a 15 track album shows no respect to the fans who will buy the album.something which goes against Kezia\'s ethics completely. Yet another reason why she wanted to have complete say on every part and move in her career. And of course naturally every last beat and chord in each of her songs. Her genre of music has been hard to classify. Although it is certainly under the title of "pop" you will find that each song has been influenced by a different genre of music from R'n'B to Eastern to Disco to Celtic to Pop to Crunk to Electronic to Classical. Making it an eclectic sounding album without going in to the realms of just plain weird. The individual character of the album that is most obvious to recognise is probably the eighties style synths used in quite a few of the tracks and also Kezia\'s distinctive sultry and seductive voice. Kezia refused to be pigeon-holed and thus restricted in her music.allowing her instincts and feelings to guide her and make decisions when recording in the studio rather than leaving all decision making to a manger or record producer. Which is why her music has been described with such far apart comparisons as Destiny's Child meets Chemical Brothers .Madonna meets the East. Pet Shop Boys meet Britney and George Michael meets Fiona Apple. Kezia has put her heart and soul into each track and you can really hear it from the sombre and delicate piano piece "Your voice" which is a heartfelt song about loosing someone you love to the bouncy beat driven "Sell out" which pokes fun and at the same time takes a serious look at the dog-eat-dog attitude in the music industry. Each song sets a different scene. Each track a different emotion.
